Team Tryouts

It's Bigger Than A Game

SDFL Tryouts

You’re serious about football. You’re getting better every day and you’re performing at a high level with your current team. You’re ready to explore your options on how to reach the next level and achieve your goals. Which development path is right for you? A developmental league is the logical choice – but the different leagues, opportunities and rules can be confusing in both the U.S. and overseas. There’s a ton of information and clutter out there regarding a quality developmental platform. The S.D.F.L. can help you navigate the developmental league landscape.
As The States Developmental Football League holds open player tryouts team Coaching staffs and General Managers will be on hand to evaluate players in attendance. Participants will be tested in the 40-yard dash, broad jump and short shuttle, with position-specific drills to follow. Players must be prepared upon arrival with appropriate workout gear and cleats/footwear. Testing will take place on grass/turf. The tryout will be full contact. Pads and helmet are necessary for 1 on 1 drills and situational drills.
No prior football experience is required.

SDFL facts

our history

The SDFL was established in 2012 by Garrick Jones and Byron Clay. Both having backgrounds in professional sports and business they came up with a concept that combine the two! For so long professional sports leagues have focused on the game play, with very little emphasis on life after the lights. We at the SDFL have changed that thought process. Since establishment, we have beta tested each area of revenue generation, to test what works, and what didn’t work. We wanted to test each scenario in order to put the best product on the field as well as in the field of business. By taking our time we have been able to weed out programs, people, and organizations that would not last in our equation.
We believe in our hearts, if we at the States Developmental Football League did not know the business, we could not teach the business! Our coaches and staff will have backgrounds in professional sports, business, finance, and life. We will teach from our testimonies, our highs and our lows, thus giving our athletes the chance that they weren’t given in the first place. A professional football career won’t last forever, but knowledge of business and survival skills can be passed down from generation to generation. We are a league of professional athletes, business people, and entrepreneurs with one common goal, the next level! In business or the grid iron the S.D.F.L. will give you the proper tools to make your transition to the next level. COMPLETE DEVELOPMENT is the key to all things S.D.F.L.
